Choo choo turned 2 and we celebrated by making and eating a lemon cake.
The kids love Angry Birds so we made up some balloons. Notice the three little birds up high.
They were very time consuming trying make up my own faces, but they kids were gaga over them.
And eventually we took them down and I let the kids destroy them.
We went to the end of the year swim team party. Mayble swam for the first time, and even though the pool was a little cold, she absolutely loved it much to my surprise.
We took a trip to the Basha pool with my sisters. I didn't get too many pictures though. Kimber bought Mayble the little swim suit and the style matched so we had to take a picture! Unfortunately the only thing open was the kid area. That was a bummer not getting to do the lazy river or slides.
Mayble's gettin big! She's 4 months now and so strong and adorable.
We had dinner at my parents and to carry on the Angry Bird theme I decided to make cupcakes to celebrate Ezra and Elsies birthdays. These were very time consuming as well (if you can't tell). I made a marshmallow fondant and cut out the little faces by hand. I thought they turned out really well and the kids loved them. Marshmallow fondant is really sweet but it actually tastes okay if you like marshmallows.
Even though it is deathly hot I really wanted to take the kids to the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson. It ended up being overcast and we went bright and early to beat the heat. I love this zoo because it is more up close and personal and it is quick to get through so you are not there all day. They even had a little splash area for the kids to cool off.
And they have a little train at the entrance which goes around a pond. We use to play at the Reid Park all the time as kids so I am sentimental about this area in Tucson.
We also swam at grandma's and grandpa's pool. Ivy is fearless as usual and did not want to wear a life jacket.
My dad was flipping the kids and Anders got really good at back flips (just like his mama as a kid).
And of course school eventually had to start. It's been bittersweet sending them back. I really don't mind them being home. I was worried about Elsie and the long day but she has been just fine. She got Anders teacher from last year so I am happy about that!
Elsie's birthday fell on the first week. My summer project of constructing a piñata finally came together and we invited cousins to come and break open all my hard work.
I was burned out with cake making so I bought a yummy shopes cake.
Aaron and I had date night last night and baby girl likes to tag along. We don't mind as long as she is happy. Not that we have a choice:) We also think it's fun to get the "Is she your first?" question. And then see the reaction as we say "no, our sixth"
